Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer – Pumping Equipment
We are working with a specialist engineering business providing nationwide installation, commissioning and servicing of pumping equipment. The company operates a field-based service environment, working across industrial and commercial sites throughout the UK, with a strong focus on technical quality, reliability and customer satisfaction.
This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer looking for variety, nationwide project exposure and strong overtime earning potential, as the business builds out a new two-person Service Team. You'll work alongside a mechanical engineer, carrying out installation, commissioning and servicing of pumping equipment, with work concentrated across North London, Suffolk, Norfolk and the Midlands, alongside occasional travel further afield. Overnight stays will be required from time to time, though jobs are scheduled in advance so you can plan around them. All travel and accommodation costs are covered.
This role would suit a qualified electrical engineer who enjoys hands-on, varied field-based work and is comfortable turning their hand to mechanical tasks alongside electrical ones. It's a great fit for someone who wants strong overtime earnings, structured travel with notice, and the chance to join a growing service team from the ground up.
Responsibilities of an Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer:
• Installation, commissioning and servicing of pumping equipment at customer sites nationwide
• Working closely with a mechanical engineer as part of a two-person field service team
• Carrying out electrical inspection and testing in line with BS7671 requirements
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults on-site
• Supporting confined space works as part of pump servicing activities
• Maintaining accurate service, testing and compliance documentation
• Liaising directly with customers to ensure a high standard of service delivery
Skills & Qualifications of an Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer:
• Level 3 Initial & Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (City & Guilds preferred)
• Level 3 C&G Electrical Installations, BS7671:2018 (18th Edition)
• Physically fit and willing to work in confined spaces alongside electrical duties
• Comfortable with nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays
• Desirable: CSCS, Medium Risk Confined Spaces, SSSTS or First Aid (full training provided where required)
Benefits of an Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer:
• Salary £38,000 - £42,000 (£18.26 - £20.19 per hour), depending on qualifications and experience
• 40-hour contracted week with strong overtime opportunities (typical OTE based on 50-55 hours worked)
