Location; Warrington
We are working with an established food and beverage manufacturing business that has recently invested significantly in expanding its packaging capability, including the installation of a new automated high-speed canning line. The site operates a fast-paced, quality-driven production environment and is family owned, with a low staff turnover and a genuinely supportive working culture.
As a result of this growth, we require an additional Maintenance Engineer to strengthen the current engineering team. Working a 4-on 4-off shift pattern (two days, two nights), you'll provide both reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the Bottling/Canning Halls, Process Plant and Services, working closely with the Engineering Manager and Production Team Leaders.
This is a great opportunity for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer looking to join a stable, well-established employer offering genuine team spirit, exposure to modern automation and PLC-controlled equipment, and the chance to be part of a business that's clearly investing in its future.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance across the site
- Support planned shutdowns to keep production running smoothly
- Work as part of a three-person team covering the Bottling/Canning Halls, Process Plant and Services
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, working with the wider team to drive performance
- Build strong working relationships with the Engineering Manager and Production Team Leaders
- Help maintain a safe, compliant and efficient working environment
Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Time-served/indentured with an HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent mechanical qualification)
- Strong knowledge of electrical, automation and PLC systems, ideally Siemens S7
- Comfortable making decisions under pressure with minimal supervision
- Used to working in a quality- and customer-focused environment
- Packaging or FMCG manufacturing background preferred but not essential
Benefits of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Salary from £56,000 + overtime + bonus scheme
- 4-on 4-off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights)
- Holidays starting at 29 days, rising to 31 with length of service
- Pension scheme
- Life assurance
- Healthshield health cash plan
- Cycle to Work scheme
