Location: Coventry
We’re partnering with a leading UK food manufacturer, home to one of the nation’s most recognisable snack brands, operating within a fast-moving, high-volume FMCG production environment. The site is a technically advanced, highly automated facility in the midst of a multi-million-pound investment programme over the next three years, building on an already firm commitment to reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement. The engineering team is mature and well organised, taking a proactive, planned approach to maintenance rather than a reactive one.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a progressive engineering team on a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern, working across high-speed production and packaging lines. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, support root cause analysis and play a central role in improving plant reliability as the site’s investment programme continues to take shape.
This role would suit an apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer looking to be part of a well-invested, structured FMCG environment during a real period of growth, helping to build strong engineering teams and processes for the future, with excellent opportunities for training, development and career progression.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across high-speed production and packaging equipment
- Respond to breakdowns promptly and effectively to keep downtime to a minimum
- Diagnose and repair faults across both mechanical and electrical systems
- Support root cause analysis to eliminate recurring failures
- Work closely with production teams to keep machines running at peak performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects across the site
- Keep accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (Electrical bias preferred)
- Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer
- Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or high-speed production environments
- Proven fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems
- PLC fault-finding and SCADA experience would be an advantage

- 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days & nights)
- Quarterly bonus scheme
- Up to 15% employer pension contribution
- Enhanced maternity, paternity and parental leave
- Structured training and career development programme
- Private healthcare and wellbeing support
