After significant growth over the last 5 years this growing bakery in Loughborough are looking for a day shift engineering manager to support and develop a growing team. Working a 4 on 4 off days pattern you will be responsible for the execution of the planned maintenance schedule and keeping downtime to a minimum.
Working for a business that really values it’s employee’s and invests profits back into the business. Ideally you will be a senior engineer looking to make the next step into management or you will have lead teams previously.
The duties and responsibilities of an Engineering Shift Manager:
- Perform reactive maintenance and tasks in line with machinery PPM schedules.
- Lead a team of 4 engineers and assist in their training and development.
- Maintain documents to ensure they are correct and up to date.
- Assist in continuous improvement ideas and projects.
- Report machinery breakdowns / PPM status for shift handover.
- Provide realistic time and cost estimates for completion of maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the sourcing and purchasing of spare parts and equipment.
Skills & Experience Required for the Engineering Shift Manager role :
- Time served Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship to at least City and Guilds, NVQ or BTEC to Level 4
- Experience of repairing and maintaining manufacturing/production plant & equipment.
- Fault finding and interrogation knowledge of PLCs, basic programming and testing.
- Multi-Skilled with strong electrical experience.
- IOSH Certified (desirable)
- Food hygiene accreditation (desirable)
- FMCG or food manufacturing experience is essential.
