Maintenance Engineer - Cheshire

We are working with a leading automated logistics and distribution operation operating as part of a global manufacturing organisation. The site is a highly automated warehouse environment featuring advanced materials handling systems, conveyor networks and high-speed automation technology.

This is a great opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a structured engineering team working a days-based shift pattern. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving automated conveyor and materials handling systems, ensuring maximum uptime in a fast-paced distribution environment.

This role would suit a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys hands-on fault finding, breakdown response and planned maintenance within a fast-moving automated environment. It is particularly well suited to electrically biased engineers who are confident working on automation, conveyors and industrial electrical systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MAINTENANCE ENGINEER:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across automated conveyor and materials handling systems

• Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults (240V / 415V systems)

• Carry out basic PLC fault finding and diagnostics support

• Maintain accurate records using CMMS systems

• Work closely with operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime

• Support safe and efficient running of automated warehouse systems

• Assist with continuous improvement and reliability activities

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS OF A MAINTENANCE ENGINEER:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)

• Strong electrical fault-finding experience in an industrial environment

• Experience with automated systems, conveyors or warehouse equipment (desirable)

• Basic understanding of PLC systems (advantageous)

• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic ability

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-automation environment

• Days only shift pattern: 07:00 – 16:00 / 08:00 – 17:00

• Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experiance.
