Supporting the healthcare supply chain, the site relies on high-speed automation and materials handling systems to ensure critical products reach customers safely and efficiently.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering department where you'll be surrounded by experienced engineers, structured processes and modern automation technology. Whether you're already multi-skilled or a mechanically biased engineer looking to develop stronger electrical and automation skills, this business offers the support and training to help you progress.
Unlike many maintenance environments, the engineering team works proactively to improve reliability and reduce downtime, with strong investment in preventative maintenance, root cause analysis and continuous improvement. This is an ideal role for an engineer who wants to learn, develop and build a long-term career within automation and maintenance engineering.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance across automated warehouse and materials handling systems

Respond to breakdowns and faults to minimise downtime and maintain operational performance

Fault find across mechanical, electrical and automation systems

Maintain and repair Knapp, Peem and Schaefer automated equipment
-
Complete maintenance records accurately using CMMS systems
-
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
-
Work closely with operational teams to maximise equipment reliability

Assist with planned shutdowns, upgrades and engineering projects
Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer:

NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
-
Experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, FMCG, retail distribution or automated environments

Strong fault-finding skills
-
Mechanically biased engineers looking to develop electrical skills are encouraged to apply

Electrical engineers looking to expand their automation knowledge are also encouraged
-
CMMS experience desirable

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Strong communication and team-working skills
