We are working with one of the UK's leading pharmaceutical distribution businesses, operating a highly automated national distribution centre that plays a vital role in the healthcare supply chain. Every day, advanced automation systems ensure critical medicines and healthcare products are delivered safely and efficiently across the UK.
Due to continued investment in both automation and engineering, the business is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its well-established engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to work alongside experienced maintenance professionals in a structured environment where training, mentoring and continuous development are genuinely part of the culture. Whether you're electrically biased or mechanically biased and looking to develop your electrical skills, you'll be given the support to broaden your technical knowledge while working on some of the most advanced automated warehouse systems in the UK.
Rather than spending every shift firefighting breakdowns, you'll become part of a proactive engineering team focused on preventative maintenance, reliability improvements and continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance across automated warehouse and materials handling systems

Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime

Fault find across conveyors, automated storage systems and warehouse automation equipment

Maintain and repair Knapp, Peem and Schaefer automated systems

Complete maintenance activities using the site's CMMS system

Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects

Work closely with operations to maximise equipment reliability and performance

Assist with planned shutdowns, upgrades and engineering projects
Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification

Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer

Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, warehousing or automated environments

Strong electrical or mechanical fault-finding skills
-
Mechanically biased engineers looking to develop their electrical skills are encouraged to apply

Electrical engineers wanting to expand their automation knowledge are also encouraged

CMMS experience desirable

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Strong communication and team-working skills
Benefits of a Maintenance Engineer:

Basic salary: £46,350

Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern:
-
2 weeks: 06:00 – 14:00
-
1 week: 14:00 – 22:00
-
1 week: 18:00 – 02:00

Only 1 Saturday per month
