Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking to move into a leadership-focused role while maintaining a great work-life balance?
We are working with a leading food manufacturing business producing some of the UK's most recognised snack brands. The site is heavily invested in both its people and equipment, with a strong culture of continuous improvement, reliability and employee development.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Reliability Lead to join the engineering team on a permanent Monday to Friday days pattern. Working as part of the site leadership team, you will take ownership of a production area, ensuring robust maintenance processes are in place to maximise equipment reliability, reduce downtime and support operational performance.
This role would suit a Senior Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Team Leader, Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Lead who enjoys coaching others, driving improvements and working closely with production teams to deliver sustainable results.
Responsibilities of a Reliability Lead:
- Lead maintenance planning and scheduling activities within your production area
- Review equipment losses and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions to recurring issues
- Drive maintenance performance through daily and weekly review meetings
- Support and develop Autonomous Maintenance activities across production teams
- Coach and develop colleagues to improve engineering and operational capability
- Support capital projects and equipment improvement initiatives
- Work closely with Operations and Production teams to deliver site performance targets
- Promote a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement
Skills & Qualifications of a Reliability Lead:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Engineering qualification
- Strong maintenance engineering background within manufacturing environments
- Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or automated production desirable
- Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading continuous improvement activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of reliability techniques and root cause analysis
- Ability to influence and develop others
