Location; Tamworth, Staffordshire
We are working with a well-established manufacturing business operating within the FMCG/injection moulding sector. The site operates a fast-paced, investment-led environment, with a strong focus on reliability, proactive maintenance and continuous improvement. This is a great opportunity for a Reliability Engineer who is looking for genuine project work, autonomy and the chance to shape the future of the site's maintenance function.
This is a newly created, Monday to Friday, days-only role, working 8am – 5pm. As Reliability Engineer, you'll lead the implementation of a new CMMS, stores and PPM system across the site, moving the team away from reactive maintenance and towards a proactive, planned approach. Alongside the systems rollout, you'll deliver hands-on training and coaching to the wider engineering team, embedding new ways of working as the site invests £6m and moves to 24/7 production.
This opportunity would suit a Reliability or Maintenance Engineer who enjoys project work as much as day-to-day maintenance – someone who wants to implement new systems, coach and develop others, and build a maintenance function from the ground up. In return, you'll get days-only hours with no weekends, and genuine scope for career progression as the site grows.
Responsibilities of a Reliability Engineer:
- Implement and manage a CMMS, stores and PPM system across the site
- Develop and roll out a proactive maintenance plan for site equipment
- Establish maintenance policies and procedures
- Deliver training and coaching to the engineering team on new systems and best practice
- Carry out quality checks on equipment to reduce unplanned downtime
- Manage the maintenance budget for site equipment
- Keep accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Skills & Qualifications of a Reliability Engineer:
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent), electrically biased
- Experience implementing or using a CMMS/PPM system is highly desirable
- Manufacturing background, ideally within injection moulding or FMCG
- Experience training, coaching or mentoring an engineering team is desirable
- A proactive, improvement-focused approach to maintenance
The Benefits of a Reliability Engineer:
- Basic salary up to £50,000
- Monday – Friday, days only, 8am – 5pm, no weekends
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Pension scheme
- Onsite parking
- Genuine career progression as the site expands
- Hands-on project work as part of a major £6m investment
