Job Title: Stores Assistant
Location: Cheshire/Shropshire border (own transport essential – rural site, no public transport links)
Salary: £12.71 per hour (£26,436 pa based on 40 hrs/week)+
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Company
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing/distribution business, known for a modern working environment and strong staff retention (30% of the workforce have 10+ years' service). Due to an internal promotion, they are now seeking a Stores Assistant to join their busy warehouse team. Full details of the client will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
The Role
Working within a fast-paced warehouse environment, the successful candidate will support the smooth running of stores operations. Full product training will be provided, and there is genuine opportunity for progression, with all vacancies advertised internally first.
Please note: this role can be physically demanding due to the nature of the products handled, and candidates should be comfortable with this before applying.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a similar Stores/Warehouse role within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- A strong team player who is self-motivated and methodical
- Good awareness of health & safety in a warehouse setting
- Own transport essential due to the site's rural location
Desirable (not essential):
- Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck licence – licence holders will be given preference
- Experience using WMS systems and hand-held scanning devices
